I was just thinking, I grew up with the term Boogeyman, but lately, I always hear him referred to as the Bogeyman. It bothers me. Wikipedia refers to him as the Bogeyman, but when I checked UrbanDictionary, there were more entries for Boogeyman than Bogeyman, so I think I'm right.
Here's a funny fact for golfers, whether it's true or not I don't know. The term bogey was coined supposedly in 1890 when a golfer was unable to shoot under par, and he exclaimed "I must be playing against the Bogey-man." It doesn't make sense to me either, but remember, this was 1890, and things were different.
